Award-Winning Cotswolds Cake Artist
Extraordinary cakes for extraordinary occasions
Sugarboo's Story
My wonderful ‘caking’ journey began in 2015 with my first decorated cake — an overly ambitious three-tier creation for my daughter’s birthday. It was a success (or at least I thought so at the time!), but more importantly, it ignited a passion for creative cake design and a determination to learn everything I could about this extraordinary craft.
I’m a wife, mother and grandmother, and my wonderful family have wholeheartedly supported me through the triumphs, challenges and occasional frustrations of building Sugarboo. What began as a creative passion has grown into an established bespoke cake business, creating distinctive commissions for clients throughout the Cotswolds and beyond.
Today, Sugarboo has an ever-growing and high-profile portfolio, and I’m privileged to create cakes for private clients, celebrities, VIPs and well-known brands. Discretion is an important part of the service I offer, and commissions can always be handled confidentially when required.
No two Sugarboo cakes are the same. From sophisticated, minimalist designs to intricate sculpted and highly detailed cakes, each commission is individually designed and created with meticulous attention to detail. I particularly love the challenge of taking an idea, personality, passion or story and transforming it into something completely unique.
Competition work has also played an important part in my development as a cake artist. Competing at Cake International continually challenges and inspires me to explore new techniques and push the boundaries of what I can create.
In 2019, I received two Bronze awards at Cake International in the Celebration Cake and Sculpted Cake categories. In 2021, my Celebration Cake entry was awarded Gold and 1st Place in Class, with three further entries receiving two Silver awards and a Merit. In 2022, a further three entries received Gold, Silver and 3rd Place in Class.
In 2022, Sugarboo opened its first dedicated cake studio in the beautiful Cotswolds village of Milton-under-Wychwood, marking another exciting chapter in the business. As Sugarboo has continued to grow and the nature of our commissions has evolved, the studio is no longer open to the general public. We remain based in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds, working by appointment only and creating bespoke commissions for clients both locally and further afield.
Every Sugarboo cake is made with care, creativity and attention to detail, using carefully selected ingredients and supporting independent and local suppliers wherever possible.
After many years working within the fashion, retail and design industries, I can honestly say that creative cake design is where I belong. I’m incredibly proud of how Sugarboo has evolved since that first birthday cake in 2015 — and I still get just as much pleasure from seeing the reaction when someone sees their cake for the first time.
After all, it’s still about the cake — and the smiles they create.
